Trip to Bangkok

It's been a while since I last blogged about my trips.

It was a very last minute planned trip to BKK, however, I enjoyed every last bit to it. The country is just simply refreshing and I had soo much fun!

I could actually imagine myself living here. Having my weekends going to Platinum Mall - strolling for new outfits every week. Going for a full body massage for only 250Baht to de-stress. Eating authentic Thai food every weekend. I COULD live here!

Seriously, you need to try this restaurant when you go to Bangkok! This is THE BEST of the BEST Thai food you'll ever tasted!

Ruen Mallika - Awesome Thai Cuisine!

This is salted egg - squid.. nice appetizer :)

Famous Pad Thai!

Duck Curry - wah.. the best!

Romantic Settings... Indoor and Outdoor

Doesn't this look like Dicks coming out from the ground?

The trip was 60% shopping, 30% food and 10% sleep - it was just simply amazing!

Coming up next - Hen's Night... interestingly enRICHing.

Self Realization Trip

For many years now, I've always read Archie's Comics and had that installed in my brain that "I wanna be like that when I grow up".

The highlight of my trip a month ago was the time I spent on the boat with this family & kids & not to mention - Dogs :)
It's awesome to own a boat - you get your own parking lot!

This is my favorite picture for this trip - it's just BEAUTIFUL... I miss it already!
Let's get started! The boat is moved onto the water...
Brilliant bridge system - it opens!!
I must introduce you to Henry (my "date") for this trip, I was his human seat belt, as the boat travels quite fast. I tell you - he's a keeper! This was along this river flow, thousands of paintings on the side with interesting writings. If I had the chance, I would write "Jolene is the best!"

Life.. is just ahead of you - and it's up to you how you want to live. I had loads of time to think about what I want in life. I want to travel! Backpacking... is something I've always wanted to do. It's time for me to make it come true again.
Muacks... xoxo

Foodilicious @ Asia Grand - Singapore

It is a bit out-dated. Just realized I havn't food-blog for quite some time - almost 1 month ago, I was in Singapore for Biz Trip ~ this was the restaurant where we had BIG mom mom for the whole company. It was a walking distance from Singapore Office ~ Beach Road. This was the appetizer ~ stacks of SA-L-MON~ yumz (one of my happy pill)~
This was the all famous Peking Duck ~
W.I.P - where this kind lady was slicing the peking duck...
Then, the peking duck is then inserted into individual folded "pancakes"- it was yummzz.
This is the almighty soup - abolone, bits and pieces of all the most "expensive" parts... the portion was so BIG that it fills your stomach immediately. *slurps*
This was the poor babe ~~ apparently - it was very very good.

This was the sliced pork skin - I think this was my best shot of the evening. This was steamed fish with to-fu, by this dish - all of us were so full already.
This was the bits of the above pork that they took and fried it - it smelled extremely delicious!

Bali Trip Part 2 - Ubud

Benefits of Tan:
1) Blush – cannot see
2) Blue black – not so visible
3) Theory of wearing black – you tend to look thinner

I told my mom the third reason, she looked at me ... and she laughed. That laugh was just so picture-perfect...which makes my day.
As mentioned, I visited the Cultural place in Bali - UBUD. Loveeeeeeeeeeed it there.

This is the Gua Gajah that is all famous

Sculptures of arts... and tons of sculptures on e wall.
You have to be wearing a Sarong while going in this sacred place.
Ladies - if you have period - you are not able to visit this place at all.

This is the fountain of spring - where you cleanse yourself to good health and future.. This was inside the cave - where the elephant god sat... there's 3 of them in there.. all wearing sarong.
pathway to walk into the gua very dark.

A girl said "Arghh.. i'm clusterphobic..." looks around.. laughs to herself.

I just smiled. Why do ppl do that? say the most obvious things and laughs to the statement. This apparently - are ancestors who died and people who died... and stacking stone are a way to remember them.
nice Jolene angle - (tilted...)
Resident Temples in Ubud, the women have to be in sarong. I loveeeeeeeeeee this shot. I love the architecture of the temples.. just can't get enough of it.

Wanted to sketch.. but didn' have time... :(

this is something I admire a lot. just plain green and look at the pattern... of the planted....

what-cha-ma-call-it

I had the priviledge to attend Balinese Batch-funeral.

This old woman's hair is like Lemur's tail.this was the detailed items displayed on the each family table for the ceremony. They burn the body into ashes... and place it into a coconut.
then, using decorative flowers to place on top of the coconut...
wife will carry the ash to the nearest ocean/river to let it free..
Overall, I loved the cultural things I saw, and I loved the morning walk... it was simply lovely.
Love the fact that i club for fREE!!!

how do you classify as regular guests?Still i find this picture disturbing.... still ..

Physically injured. Emotionally healed.

“Crew cabins, get ready for departure....” Thinking to myself. This is it.... Good bye Lost-Jolene. Gonna find myself.... somehow.

It's true that everyone needs to a break sometimes, whether it’s a break from reality, a break from relationship, a break from work, a break from problems that bugs you like crazy. This is MY break – to let go and move on with MY life, and focus on WHAT I WANT.

Guess what guys? I FOUND HER~~ Jolene – who gets what she wants. I missed her a lot.

Ok ok. Enof emo stuff. Back to How’s the city of “LOOKING LOOKING? VERI CHEAP!”... I would have been so emo about things are not organized, but thanks to the expectation that I set “Go with the flow”... I was pretty much ~~ whatever ~~ blue blue (theme for this trip APPARENTLY)

Landed at Bali. Dumped Bag into Hotel. Lie down @ bed starring at the ceiling. (Nice ceiling). Pack bag ~~ BEACH BEACH BEACH!
Oh YES. You get mentally raped by all these people who would sell you anything... like a BOW.. on a beach?

Well, I had my fair share of getting mentally raped ~ I had my nails done on the first day. Was good for Anna to keep me company – she’s doing this for like 15years, she has 2 kids – one 17yrs old son, one 8yrs old daughter. My nails so beautiful. (did i mentioned ... it’s freakin cheap!!!)
I also had my temporary tatoo done with Joey~~ as I wait for the waves to be more calm for my adventure!
I sat there... watching HOT HUNKS play some mixed weird games – Tennis concept of football. Drooling hot. (4 dudes x 6 packs = 24 packs... droolz)
Of course. Sun set was just sooooooooooo beautiful. I met Bobby – he’s my teacher for Surfing. Painful experience. But guess what? I stood up for like 1 second. HAHAHA ^_^ (truth is.. he never gave up on me even after an ACCIDENT!)
This is the surfboard. Twice my size. Guess what happened? It hit muah face, waist, arm, shoulder, leg... *ouch* indeed. This was the scar on my face.
Didn't know it was so bad until I'm back home. 3 patches of herbs. YES.
Emotionally healed. Physically injured.
Will blog about cultural stuff i did next round ~~
